Ashish Batwara has years of experience in architecting and designing software products, with 12+ years of direct management experience in leading and growing geographically dispersed software engineering teams in the areas of cloud, storage, networking, and analytics. Currently, he is leading software engineering responsible for building Developer Cloud from scratch, including compute, foundation, and financial services for both internal and public users. Prior to this, he led software engineering responsible for building Streaming Data Platform, an analytic platform to ingest, store, and analyze both real-time and historical streaming data. Before this, he led software engineering teams at AWS for one of the top four AWS services, EBS. He bootstrapped multiple software/firmware teams (@Dell, @Fusion-io, @Samsung, @AWS) to a sizable number and delivered the first generation software products. Led 90+ member team, including a combination of managers and senior engineers. Authored 15 patents (10 granted, 5 pending) and two proposals, now storage industry standard. Played several roles, including Engineering Director/Manager, Product Manager, Architect (Software Solutions and Firmware), Technical Lead, and Technical Developer. Ashish obtained his MS in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India, and MBA from San Jose State University. He is pursuing certification in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford business school.
